Collection Times:

Your race number will be assigned to you at registration. To collect your number you need to make your way down to the collection desks on Wednesday evening. It will take around 15 minutes to collect your number. The earlier you get there, the more efficient we will be on the day. If you have your own pins then that would be great but we will have supplies if needed.

Your timing chip will be attached to the bottom of your race bib. Please remove the strip and attach it to your shoe shiny side up as per the instructions on the back of the chip. Please make sure you keep your number on at all times during the race. At the finish, you can dispose of your chip (we do not need to collect them back).

When you receive your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us greatly in case of an emergency!

By Car

Cannock Chase is east of the M6, close to junctions 12 and 13. The A34 between Stafford and Cannock runs along its western boundary; the A513 Stafford to Rugeley road lies to the north; while the A460 provides access from Cannock in the south. The A51 between Lichfield and Rugeley provides access from the south-east.

There is a large car park located at the Visitor Centre (if using the what3words app: ///landlady.physics.workbook) Please note, this is pay and display. There are alternative free car parks located along Penkridge Bank Road however, these are limited and a short walk to the Event Village.


Public Transport

The nearest train stations Rugeley Trent Valley and Rugeley Town are both approximately 2 miles away.

There are also various options for bus services in and around Cannock Chase. Visit Staffordshire County Council’s website here for timetables and operator route maps.​

Toilets

For this event, we will use portable toilets. If you live locally we recommend using toilets at home.

Baggage

We will have an informal baggage drop for this event. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.

During the race

We will have a lead bike and marshals all around the course as well as mile & km signs and arrows. The course is one lap for the 5k, 2 laps for the 10k and 3 laps with a mini loop to start for the 10mile. 5k runners will be following KM markers 6-9. This undulating course is on high-quality trail paths.

Cannock Chase Forest is open to the public, please be respectful of other users of the paths. We recommend you do not use earphones and to be aware of your surroundings.

If you need to overtake on the course please be sure to take a wide berth around the runner in front of you.

Please discard any water bottles or rubbish near the course signs and bins during the race.

Protecting the Forest

Please be respectful of the area during your visit and race. You can read the important biosecurity advice at this link here to help protect the woodlands.

Spectators

Spectators are more than welcome to come along and support runners. As this is a lapped course, we recommend spectators stay within the event village to be able to see participants at the start, finish and as they begin each lap, and to avoid congestion on the course.

​Refreshments

Please bring your own water to the event to avoid congestion on the course. There will be water provided on each lap as well as at the finish. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead-up to the event.

We recommend downloading the NHS COVID-19 App onto your phone if you haven’t already before the race. Find out more HERE.

After the race

Do NOT stop within the finish area. Please continue through the finish until you pass the medals and are in an open space.

There will be sealed ACTIPH water bottles at the finish for each runner to collect along with your medal and Love Corn which will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself.
