Join us for the Hertfordshire Half Marathon & 10K on Sunday 1st November 2026

In Support of Garden House Hospice Care

The Hertfordshire Half Marathon & 10K in support of Garden House Hospice returns for 2026, and registration is now OPEN! Taking place on Sunday 1st November, this exciting event is set in beautiful Old Knebworth, offering runners of all abilities a memorable race experience.

Both races feature undulating, scenic road routes through the picturesque Hertfordshire countryside. Whether you're tackling the Half Marathon or the 10K, you'll enjoy a welcoming race-day atmosphere, excellent support from marshals, and clear route markings. It's the perfect autumn challenge for seasoned runners aiming for a new PB or first-timers stepping up their distance.

We’re delighted to have Garden House Hospice as our Charity of the Year in 2026. Garden House Hospice Care provides free specialist palliative care for patients, families and carers facing life limiting illnesses from across North Hertfordshire, Stevenage and towns and villages in Central Bedfordshire and Cambridgeshire.

Race Day Schedule

09:00 amHalf Marathon start

Elevation: 218m, Road (undulating)

Distances: 21.1km

Cut-off: 3 Hours (12:00)

09:30 am - 10k start

Elevation: 92m, Road (undulating)

Cut-off: 1.5 Hours (11:00)

Each kilometre is accurately marked with distance markers and our friendly marshals will guide and cheer you all the way to the finish. We cannot wait to welcome you to Hertfordshire!

Getting There

By Train: Stevenage is the closest train station to the start location, situated 2.3 miles away. This distance would take roughly 50 minutes to walk. Alternatively, ride the number 8 bus (towards Bragbury End), alighting at Roebuck Gate. The start location is then a short 15-minute walk away.

Parking

There is only one road into the car parking and event so please give plenty of time. The entrance is just off the A1(M) at the junction 7 roundabout. We recommend car sharing where possible to reduce any congestion.

We advise arriving before 8am to allow plenty of time to get parked and walk up to the Event Village. Please note, the car park will shut 30 minutes pre event due to the course running past the entrance to the car park, please arrive as early as possible.

Event Village Opens

Baggage

We will have a secure marquee where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff and they will help you find your baggage.

Toilets

There will be portable toilets in the event village and on course for the Half Marathon runners.

Water & Refreshments

There will be sufficient water provided on the course, roughly every 5k, and there will also be water available at the finish along with your post race goodies and medal.

Warm-Up & Race Start

There will be a group warm-up 15 minutes prior to the start of each race. From here, we will call out estimated finish times to get all runners lined up and ready to run.

Cut-Off

10k — 12:00

Half Marathon — 12:00

If you think you may take longer than the cut-off time, please email info@runthrough.co.uk before the event so we can advise on the options — we want everyone to finish, and knowing in advance lets us keep the course and marshals in place for you where we can. We will try our best to facilitate, however must take into account the road closures that are in place.

Spectators are more than welcome, we advise staying in the event village where you will be able to catch the start & finish. If you choose to go out onto the course, please be aware of the road closures in place.

Accessibility

Buggy runners and wheelchair athletes are welcome. Please remain mindful of other runners and make yourself known if you need to overtake. This is a tough course for buggy runners and wheelchair athletes, so please check the elevation and course map in advance of entering.

Dogs

Dogs are not permitted to run at this event.

Your finisher medal
