CHASE THE SUN OLYMPIC PARK 5k & 10k – WEDNESDAY 8TH MAY 2019
Start area location: ArcelorMittal Orbit (giant red structure directly outside the Olympic Stadium)
Race address: Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park, E20 2AD
Start Time: 7pm
All pre-entries will be assigned a number. Your number will be assigned on Wednesday morning, if you remember this number it will make collection super quick on the day.
To collect them you need to make your way down to the numbers desk between 6.05pm – 6.45pm. It will take around 15 minutes to collect number and drop your bag off. The earlier you get there, the more efficient we will be on the day. You will only need one number attached to the front of your shirt. If you have your own pins then that would be great but we will have supplies if needed. Your timing chip will also be in the envelope, this needs to be attached to your shoe as per the instructions on the back of the chip. Please make sure you keep your number on at all times during the race. At the finish you can dispose of your chip (we do not need to collect them back).
When you collect your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner Information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us greatly in case of an emergency!
You will find instructions on the back of your chip for how to attach it to your shoe correctly (as below):
We will have a secure area where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, all you have to do show you number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.
There will be water provided on every lap of the race, and at the finish line alongside bananas and of course flapjacks!

During the race
There will be marshals all around the course as well as km signs and arrows. The course is two laps for the 5k and four laps for the 10k on the roads/paths in the park. You can see the course map below:
Please be aware that we have a lead bike on the front of each race. In the event that the course is a multi lap course, be aware that the lead bike might catch up behind you, and will be communicating which side the bike will be passing. In the interest of safety to yourself, other runners, pedestrians and our marshals, it is very important that instructions are listened to, and that if you are wearing headphones, your music is at a level that will allow you to hear instructions clearly.
Also, please be aware that there will be spectators and members of the public using the park.
Results will be available on www.runthrough.co.uk after the race.
We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.
