Getting There

Darlington town centre is well connected by public transport and easily accessible on foot. We strongly recommend using public transport due to road closures around the course.

Train:

Darlington Railway Station is a short walk from the event village and offers excellent regional connections.

Bus:

Local bus services operate throughout the town centre. Some routes may run on diverted paths during the event due to road closures.

Parking

Town‑centre parking is available in several public car parks within walking distance of the start/finish area. Due to road closures for the race and the number of runners arriving, please plan to arrive early. For the most up‑to‑date options, including prices and walking distances, we recommend checking Parkopedia before you travel. When using on‑street parking, please respect residents’ access at all times.

Event Village Opens

Baggage

An informal bag drop is located within the event village. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number — tear off the strip, attach it to your bag and leave it in the bag‑drop marquee. Collect it after your race.

Toilets

Toilets are located within the event village — follow the signs. Queues can build in the final half hour before the start, so please plan ahead.

We will also have toilets available on the course. Locations will be confirmed closer to the event, but we usually position them near water stations so they’re easy to find.

Water & Refreshments

Water stations are positioned around the course at approximately each 5k, with bottled water available at the finish. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead‑up to the event.

Race Pack Posting

Race packs are posted to everyone who entered by Sunday 22nd November; anyone who entered after that collects theirs at registration on the day. If yours hasn't arrived by the Friday before the race, email info@runthrough.co.uk or collect it at registration.

10K A-Race: 07:30–08:30

Warm-Up & Race Start

A group warm‑up will take place 15 minutes before the race start. After this, runners will be asked to line up behind the pace boards showing expected finish times, helping everyone to self‑seed safely and smoothly before the start.

Cut-Off

HM — 12:00

The cut‑off time for the Darlington Half Marathon is 3 hours.

If you think you may take longer than this, please email info@runthrough.co.uk before the event so we can advise on the options. We want everyone to finish, and letting us know in advance helps us plan marshal support and manage road‑closure timings safely.

You’re very welcome to come and support the event. The town‑centre event village is the best place to enjoy the atmosphere, with views of both the start and the finish. You can also head out onto the closed‑road sections around Darlington to cheer runners along the route.

Accessible viewing areas are available, and our team is on hand to support anyone who may need assistance on arrival.

Dogs are welcome in public areas of the town centre but must stay on a lead and be under control at all times.
