The Josh Kerr Mile Presented by Brooks

The Josh Kerr Mile debuts at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park South Park on Thursday 16th July 2026, bringing runners together for an exciting summer evening celebration of the iconic mile distance.

 

Inspired by one of Britain’s leading athletes, this unique event gives participants the chance to test their speed, enjoy a brilliant race atmosphere, and take on a memorable challenge in one of London’s most inspiring sporting locations.

 

The event will take place from 19:00, with runners setting off in waves across the evening. Whether you are chasing a fast mile, taking on the distance for the first time, or joining the celebration of running, this is a standout opportunity to be part of a special race night at Queen Elizabeth Olympic Park.

 

On July 18th 2023 World 1,500 Metre Champion Josh Kerr has one aim at the London Diamond League: breaking the mile world record and elevating the attempt into a defining performance-led moment. The current record 3:43.13, set by Hicham El Guerrouj in 1999 has stood for over 25 years. This is not just a time chase, but a proving ground for what’s possible when elite performance, innovation, and belief converge
