JOIN OUR TEAM OF PACERS & FINISH LINE FRIENDS

KINETIC BANNERS Volunteer 1024x256

Many of our races have pacers & Finish line friends to help our runners along the way, stick to their target pace and hopefully run a new personal best!

We care a lot about our runners, and we want them to achieve their goals. We have introduced pacers to many of our races and have seen first hand, how many runners really appreciate the extra help and motivation they got along the way!

The Role of a pacer:

A pacer should aim to run even splits and achieve the pre-determined time set. (You can choose a time wave when signing up). This could be anything from a 35min for a 10k, to a 3hr Half Marathon, and everything in between. The role of the pacer does not stop there though. They can offer advice or motivation along the way. Pacers are often keen runners that want to encourage people to cross the finish line.

Running with a pacer lets you focus solely on running and not worrying about splits or time. Simply focus and follow the pacer to achieve your desirable time.

The Role of a Finish Line Friend:

A finish line friend acts a friendly and supportive face in the final stretch of the race. Their job is to pick up any runners who look like they are struggling or need that extra bit of motivation, and run or walk alongside them until the finish. Every runner is important to us, and whether it be their first race or furthest race to date, often that extra push is what’s needed to reach that all important finish line goal!

What does it include?

All our pacers receive a pacer yellow T-shirt, a £10 RTKit credit voucher and a free entry into a Future RunThrough race.
Finish line friends will receive a pink T-shirt, a £10 RTKit credit voucher and a free entry into a Future RunThrough race.

Pacing is completely free to do, as we will enter you into the race, and ensure you still get a bib, chip time and all the post race goodies as a thank you for taking part with us!

If this sounds like a role for you, please email volunteer@runthrough.co.uk to sign up for any event!
