RunThrough Launches the Kensington 10K: A Brand New, Fully Road Closed Race Through Kensington and Notting Hill

London, 8th October 2026: RunThrough, the organiser behind some of the UK's biggest mass participation running events, today announces the Kensington 10k, a brand new, fully road closed 10k through one of London's most historic and well trodden areas.
Taking place on Sunday 7 March 2027, the race will start and finish beside Holland Park, just off Kensington High Street, taking runners on a single-lap 10k through the streets of Kensington and Notting Hill. Set to be London's most scenic 10k, the route is a tour of the area's best known sights, with highlights including Holland Park, the Design Museum, Leighton House (the former home and studio of Victorian artist Frederic Leighton), Notting Hill Gate, Notting Hill's famous colourful terraces, Ladbroke Grove and Portobello Road. With every road on the course closed to traffic, runners will get to run down the middle of streets they would normally only see from the pavement. The course will be officially measured and chip timed, so every runner gets an accurate, official result.
Notting Hill's streets are world famous for the Notting Hill Carnival, one of the best known street parties on the planet. Next March, the Kensington 10k will bring a different kind of party to those same streets, with thousands of runners taking over the route and big crowds expected to come out on the streets to cheer them on.
The Kensington 10k joins RunThrough's roster of flagship road closed events, including the Fulham 10k, Shakespeare Marathon, London Half & 10k, Newport 10k, Middlesbrough Half Marathon, Hampton Court Palace Half Marathon and Run Alton Towers. Being entrusted with a closed road race in an area of such significance is a further endorsement of RunThrough as a trusted partner, able to deliver high potential events safely and to a high standard in some of the country's most iconic locations.
The event also adds to RunThrough's offering for runners of every ability. Whether it is a first 10k, a step up in distance or a chance to chase a personal best, the Kensington 10k is designed to support runners wherever they are on their running journey.
Combining a closed road course, world famous scenery and the trusted RunThrough event experience, the Kensington 10k is set to become a firm favourite in runners' calendars.
Jack Williams, CEO of RunThrough, said:
"Kensington and Notting Hill are some of the most iconic streets anywhere in the world, and closing them to traffic for a mass participation of 10k is a huge moment for RunThrough and for London's running community. Being trusted to deliver a race in an area of such significance is testament to the experience our team has built putting on safe, high quality closed road events across the country. We want the Kensington 10k to be a race for everyone, whether you're lining up for your first 10k or chasing a personal best, and with thousands already on the waiting list, the demand shows just how special this one is going to be."
