Race in the heart of Newcastle upon Tyne on a fast, flat course linking the historic grounds of Exhibition Park with the wide open space of Town Moor. With the city skyline around you and views stretching toward St James’ Park, this autumn event offers a brilliant setting for PB chasers, first‑timers and club runners alike.

The route follows wide park paths around Exhibition Park and the Town Moor, with clear signage throughout and friendly marshals supporting you at every stage.

Enjoy a unique blend of green space and city energy as you make your way around one of Newcastle’s most iconic running locations. Our team will guide and encourage you all the way to the finish.

Event Information

The Town Moor route is a multi‑lap course using the wide paths around the Moor and Exhibition Park. The terrain is a mix of tarmac and compact gravel paths, and the course is flat, offering a smooth and consistent running experience.

Marshals are positioned throughout the course, with clear distance markers and directional arrows to keep you on the correct route. Please follow marshal instructions and signage, especially at the split point where distances separate before re-joining later in the lap.

Getting There

There is no dedicated event parking at Exhibition Park, so we strongly recommend using public transport or arriving on foot where possible.

Nearest Metro Station: Haymarket (approx. 10‑minute walk)

Bus Stops: Great North Road / Claremont Road

Park & Ride options are available from Metro stations running directly to Haymarket.

The event village is accessible on foot only, with no vehicle access through the park.

Claremont Road Car Park (NE2 4AA) – Pay & display, limited spaces

Newcastle University car parks – Short walk to Exhibition Park

If driving, please allow extra time and consider pre‑booking nearby parking through services such as JustPark or Parkopedia.

Car sharing is encouraged wherever possible to reduce congestion around the venue.

Event Village Opens

Baggage

An informal bag drop is within the event village. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number — tear off the strip, attach it to your bag and leave it in the bag-drop marquee. Collect it after your race.

Toilets

Toilets are located within the Event Village — follow the signs. Queues can build in the final half hour before the start, so please plan ahead.

Water & Refreshments

Water stations are positioned around the course approximately every 5k, with bottled water available at the finish. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead‑up to the event.

Warm-Up & Race Start

A group warm‑up will take place 15 minutes before each race. After this, estimated finish times will be called to help all runners line up safely and smoothly before the start.

Spectators are very welcome. We recommend staying in the Event Village, where you can see the start, lap point and finish, and enjoy the atmosphere throughout the event.

Best Places To Watch

Spectators can enjoy the atmosphere in the Event Village at Exhibition Park, where you can see runners at the start, lap point and finish. You can also head out onto the course to cheer runners along the route.

With this 5k looped course, runners pass spectators multiple times on each lap, creating a great atmosphere.

Accessibility

Spectators are welcome at all our events, with accessible viewing areas and support available for anyone who may need it. Please speak to a member of the team on arrival if you require assistance.

Dogs

Dogs are welcome in public areas of the venue but must stay on a lead and under control at all times.
