Join us for the Newcastle 10k on Saturday 23rd January 2027
Newcastle 10k is back this year, bigger, better, and bolder than before — proudly delivered in partnership with Gateshead Harriers.
With full road closures and over 3,000 runners expected, this event creates a brilliant atmosphere along one of the North East’s most iconic routes.
The race follow a stunning out-and-back route along the Newcastle Quayside, passing beneath the Swing Bridge, High Level Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, King Edward VII Bridge and Redheugh Bridge. Runners enjoy iconic views throughout, including the world-famous Tyne Bridge, the Gateshead Millennium Bridge, and the Glasshouse and BALTIC Centre for Contemporary Art, before finishing with a spectacular backdrop of the Millennium Bridge.
The route is flat, fast and perfect for PBs, while remaining fully accessible for beginners looking for an unforgettable race experience.
Newcastle 10 also forms part of our Top Flight Race Series, attracting some of the UK’s leading athletes and creating a fantastic racing spectacle.

Each kilometre is accurately marked with distance flags and our friendly marshals will guide and cheer you all the way to the finish. We cannot wait to welcome you to the Newcastle 10k.
With RunThrough you can expect a friendly team of marshals to help guide you round the course and cheer you on to the finish, a lively and well-serviced event village with plenty of food and drink options including free goodies from our partners at the finish line after your hard effort.
