Get ready for the Spring Edition Quayside races, delivered in partnership with Wallsend Harriers & AC, with the Quayside 5K, Junior 3K and U11 Kids Race all taking place along the scenic riverside path.

The Quayside 5K features a flat, fast and World Athletics measured course, making it a brilliant option for chasing a PB or taking on your first 5K. The race also hosts the NECAA Championships and the Wallsend Harriers Terry O'Gara Trophy.

Along the route, runners can enjoy views of some of the Quayside's most recognisable landmarks, including the Swing Bridge, High Level Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, King Edward VII Bridge and Redheugh Bridge, before finishing over the Millennium Bridge in Baltic Square.

With races for adults, juniors and U11s, this is a brilliant spring event for runners and families alike. Secure your place and join us on the Quayside this April!

Event Information

The route is flat, World Athletics measured, and perfect for PBs or a first 5K. You run along the Quayside path with views of the Tyne and a roll call of landmarks: pass the Swing Bridge, then run beneath the High Level Bridge, Queen Elizabeth II Bridge, King Edward VII Bridge and Redheugh Bridge, before crossing the Gateshead Millennium Bridge to finish in Baltic Square. Each kilometre is marked with distance flags. The Quayside 5K B-Race has a 60-minute cut-off so the roads can reopen.
