Join us for the Run Heaton Park 5k, 10k, Half Marathon & Junior Race on Sunday 17th October 2027!

Set within one of Manchester’s most popular green spaces, Heaton Park provides a superb backdrop for an autumn race day. With its expansive grounds and beautiful historic surroundings, including a Grade I listed neoclassical 18th-century house, it is an ideal venue for a 5k, 10k or Half Marathon, as well as a Junior Race.

The course is all on the tarmac paths within the park. This is an undulating and tough course.

Spectators are more than welcome, we advise staying in the event village where you will be able to catch the start & finish.

By Public transport: Metrolink offers Park and Ride car parks right across the tram network which are free to use for Metrolink customers.

The Park and Rides at Bury Interchange, Radcliffe and Whitefield offer a quick and easy way to get to Heaton Park and Bowker Vale stops, both of which are within walking distance of the park. For times visit www.metrolink.co.uk.

Heaton Park is served by the x35, 59, 90, 135, 149, 156, 164 and 484 buses.

Baggage

We will have a secure marquee where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff and they will help you find your baggage.

There will be water provided at the 5k point of the race, and there will also be water available at the finish along with your post race goodies and medal. (Please note the 5k won’t pass a water station on the course).

Accessibility

Buggy runners and wheelchair athletes are welcome. Please remain mindful of other runners and make yourself known if you need to overtake. Dogs are not permitted to run at this event, however spectators are welcome to have their dog within the event village if kept on a lead at all times.
