The Northampton 5K, 10K & Juniors returns to Sixfields Stadium on Sunday 23rd May 2027!

Start and finish inside the stadium before taking on the fully road-closed routes around Northampton. With 5K, 10K and Junior Race options available, it’s a fantastic choice for PB chasers, first-time runners and families looking for an exciting morning out as the warmer race season gets underway.

Enjoy a supportive atmosphere, a unique themed medal at the finish and a memorable race-day experience inside one of Northampton’s standout sporting venues.

Please note: due to the road-closed nature of the event, there is a 90-minute cut-off time.

Event Information

The course will start and finish within Sixfields Stadium and take in the surrounding closed roads.

Cut-off:

Please note there is a 90min cut off on this race due to road closures in place.

Getting There

By Train: Northampton train station is a 30-minute walk from the stadium.

By Car: From The South - Leave the M1 at Junction 15A and take the A43 towards Northampton. Continue straight on and the stadium will appear on the right.

From The North - Leave the M1 at Junction 16 and take the A4500 towards Northampton. Continue straight on and the stadium will appear on the right.

Parking

There is limited free parking available on site. We recommend arriving early, as with all major events, please expect queues on arrival.

Baggage

We will have a secure marquee where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff and they will help you find your baggage.

Toilets

For this event, we will be using toilet facilities within the stadium concourse.

Water & Refreshments

There will be water provided at the halfway point of the 10k, and there will also be water available at the finish along with your post race goodies and medal. Please note the 5k won’t pass a water station on the course.

Warm-Up & Race Start

There will be a group warm-up 15 minutes prior to the start of each race. From here, we will call out estimated finish times to get all runners lined up and ready to run.

Spectators are more than welcome, we advise staying in the event village where you will be able to catch the start & finish. If you choose to head out onto the course, please be respectful of other runners and members of the public, and be aware of the road closures in place.

Accessibility

Buggy runners and wheelchair athletes are welcome. Please remain mindful of other runners around you and make yourself known should you need to overtake them. Dogs are not allowed for runners and spectators at this event.
