We are excited to announce the Newcastle-Gateshead Marathon, Half Marathon & 10k will return on Sunday 3rd May 2026!

These ROAD CLOSED courses take in the famous landmarks of Gateshead including Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse International Centre for Music, BALTIC, Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and finish in the iconic Gateshead International Stadium.

Gateshead International Stadium is the third largest sporting venue in Tyne and Wear and the North East’s only IAAF-standard athletics stadium. The venue has hosted IAAF Diamond & Golden League Athletics and the European Cup featuring the superstars of athletics. You will be joining many World Champions & Olympians who have crossed the finish line at Gateshead International Stadium where five world records have been broken on the famous track.

Race Distance & Start Times

09:00 am - Marathon

09:25 am - Half Marathon & 10K

13:00 pm - Junior Race

This ROAD CLOSED course takes in the famous landmarks of Gateshead including Gateshead Millennium Bridge, The Glasshouse ICM, BALTIC, Tyne Bridge, Swing Bridge and finishes in the iconic Gateshead International Stadium — finishing by running around the track and crossing the finish line cheered home by family and friends.

**There is a 6 hour cut off due to road closures**

Each kilometre is accurately marked with distance flags and our friendly marshals will guide and cheer you all the way to the finish. We cannot wait to welcome you to Newcastle!
