Edinburgh Running Festival August 2026

Join us for the Edinburgh Running Festival on Sunday 2 August 2026 in support of Scottish Action for Mental Health.

Experience Edinburgh at its most dramatic as you take on closed-road routes around Holyrood Park with the city skyline on the horizon. In the shadow of Arthur’s Seat, these undulating Half Marathon, 10K and 5K courses blend big city buzz with breathtaking scenery, making this a perfect day out whether you are chasing a PB or enjoying a memorable run with friends.

Set on well-marshalled, clearly marked roads, the route loops beneath crags and open hillside with sweeping views across the capital. Expect smooth delivery from the team behind the UK’s largest running events, accurate chip timing, and a lively finish area to celebrate your effort.

Each kilometre or mile  is accurately marked with distance flags, and our friendly marshals will guide and cheer you all the way to the finish. We cannot wait to welcome you to Edinburgh Running Festival.
