Join us for the Carsington Water Trail Half Marathon & 10k on Saturday 26th June 2027!

Enjoy a summer race day at Carsington Water, taking on an undulating trail route around one of Derbyshire’s most scenic reservoirs. With sweeping countryside views, waterside paths, and a relaxed outdoor atmosphere, this is a brilliant setting for a Half Marathon or 10k.

The June date brings long days, lush surroundings, and plenty of seasonal colour across the route. Whether you are chasing a strong summer run or soaking up the scenery, Carsington Water offers a rewarding race experience from start to finish.

All routes will be marked using trail flags and tags, along with A5 arrows and signage. Our friendly marshals will also be on hand to guide you at major junctions and cheer you all the way to the finish. However, please note with all trail races, routes can be disrupted by many things: the weather, disgruntled walkers and wildlife, to name a few! To keep you safe, we provide the GPX for your race route so you can check you’re on track throughout the race and course correct/self-navigate if necessary.

There is paid parking available at the venue. This is Number plate recognition and to be paid on exit.

Visitor Centre Car Park = £3 for two hours, £5 for the whole day.

Millfields Car Park= £2.50 for two hours, £4 for the whole day.

You can park at the 10k start or finish, please note, you will have to make your own way to the start, or back to your car after the race. Please note both races finish in the main Event Village, this is a 1.3mile /25minute walk from the 10k start location.

Baggage

We will have a secure marquee where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff and they will help you find your baggage. Any bags left at the 10k start will be transported to the finish for you to collect at the end.

Toilets

We will be using toilets located behind the visitor centre.

There is also a toilet block located in Millfields Car Park at the 10k start.

REFRESHMENTS (write this as you’d like to appear on the website)

There will be water provided at the 5k point of the 10k race, and at miles 3, 6 and 9 on the half marathon. There will also be water available at the finish along with your post race goodies and medal.

There will be a group warm-up 15 minutes prior to the start of each race. From here, we will call out estimated finish times to get all runners lined up and ready to run.
