About This Event

This picturesque course takes you running through the stunning grounds of Wimbledon Common to cover the Half Marathon or 10k distances. Each mile is accurately marked out with sign posts and we have plenty of helpers to keep you on track and to encourage you on your way to the finish.

Event Information

The route will follow a mix of undulating gravel, tarmac/paths around Wimbledon Common.

By Car: Get the full directions here The race will be starting/finishing on Richard Evans Memorial Playing Fields, signed London Broncos Rugby Club. Be alert for it as it’s a sharp left off the A3. By Bus: The 85 and 265 buses take participants to Roehampton Vale Campus( Kingston University Roehampton Campus). Use TFL to help plan your journey. Chase The Sun Wimbledon Common 5k & 10k: Address: Cannizaro Park, West Side Common, Wimbledon Common, London SW19 4UH If using the app What3Words, use the words ///paint.public.wash for exact event village location Public Transport: Getting there from the Tube/Train station will need careful planning. Be sure to give yourself plenty of time! The nearest train station is Wimbledon. From here, take 93 bus to bus stop Q (Marryat Road), it is then a 5-10 minute walk to the start. You can use TFL to help plan your journey. By Foot: The park is easily accessible by foot, you can see more information on Cannizaro Park HERE. Please, wherever possible walk, jog, run, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. PARKING No parking on-site, runners advised to take public transport to venue.

Baggage

We will have a secure marquee where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to our staff and they will help you find your baggage.

Toilets

There will be toilets available in the event village.

Water & Refreshments

There will be water provided at the 4 mile, 6 mile, 10 mile and 12 mile spots along the Half Marathon loop and at 5k on the 10k loop, as well as at the finish alongside your post race goodies!

Race Pack Collection

HM - 8am-9am

Warm-Up & Race Start

There will be a group warm-up 15 minutes prior to the start of each race. From here, we will call out estimated finish times to get all runners lined up and ready to run.

Spectators are more than welcome, we advise staying in the event village where you will be able to catch the start & finish.

Accessibility

Due to the nature of the terrain within Wimbledon Common it is not deemed safe or suitable for buggy runners or wheelchair athletes. Dogs are not permitted to run at this event however spectators are welcome to have their dog within the event village; they must be kept on a lead at all times.
