Sheffield Half Marathon

In general, anything less than 2 hours is considered a respectable time for a half marathon. That being said, if your run time is longer than that, don’t be disheartened! Crossing the finish line of a half marathon is a great accomplishment, and there’s always room to improve next time.

Yes! We organise Sheffield races including 5k, 10k and half marathon distances so that you can select the distance that will be a nice challenge for you.

To get a time of 2 hours for your half marathon, you would need to run at a pace of 9 minutes and 9 seconds per mile. While it may sound like a challenge to maintain this pace, it’s definitely achievable! For reference, seasoned half marathon runners often aim for a target of 1 hour and 30 minutes run time or less.

A half marathon is 13.1 miles (or 21.09 kilometres).

Yes, there are entry fees for all of our races. You will receive refreshments on event day, as well as post-race goodies after the event (including a unique themed medal).

All of our races are carefully organised by our Run Through UK team to ensure a smooth event day. We have on-the-ground support workers as well as clear distance markers in place. The course you should expect to run depends on the race you have selected – check out the individual event page for the course map. Some of our races are run on city’s streets, while others offer super scenic routes. All the information about where to find the start line (be it Sheffield city centre or somewhere else), and what time to arrive, will be included in your event information pack.
