Beat Box Hill 5k, 10k, 21k & 50k – October 2024

We are excited to present to you the RunThrough Trails 5k, 10k, 21k and 50k around Box Hill!

Box Hill is an iconic peak in the heart of Surrey and is an ideal setting for this 5k, 10k, 21k and 50k trail event, with a range of distances to choose from, the challenge of box hill has something for everyone!

With stunning scenery and a team of enthusiastic marshals, the Beat Box Hill trail races are perfect for both seasoned athletes and first timers!

Start Times:
50k – 8am (12 hr cut-off)
21k – 8:30am
5k/10k – 9:30am (90 min cut-off)
Minimum Ages: 5k-11 | 10k- 15 | 21k- 17 | 50k- 20
This race will be run under UK Athletics Rules

We have been extensively researching into what runners consider important, and sustainability is fast becoming the most important area. Click HERE to see what RunThrough is doing for sustainability.

T-Shirts at events have been a hot topic mainly around them not being a high enough quality to wear on a regular basis. So we have decided to tackle this by offering a T-Shirt (Women – CLICK HERE | Men – CLICK HERE) with a retail value of £22 for £12 with the addition of the event logo printed on the chest. These are to be collected at the Kit Stall on the day.

We can do this with our partner RT Kit as part of a strategic decision to not only raise awareness about the quality of the product but also to counteract the increasing costs incurred in event production in a post-COVID world.

 

Here at RunThrough we are always looking for likeminded people to join our community. We always value an extra pair of hands and would love for you to come along and help us! From managing stalls at the event village to handing out medals at the finish, our volunteers are a critical part of what make RunThrough events so special! If you fancy volunteering with us as a volunteer at his event or any of our other events please click HERE

ONCE YOU ENTER YOU WILL RECEIVE A CONFIRMATION EMAIL. MORE INFORMATION ABOUT YOUR RACE PACK AND THE BIG DAY WILL BE SENT CLOSER TO THE EVENT – ENJOY!

The Courses

The 10k follows 2 laps of the 5k course

Additional Information

Due to the nature of this event it is going to be cup-less. This means that we WILL NOT be providing bottled water on course. We will have bottled water in our Event Village for pre race and also every finisher will receive a bottle of water after they finish.

Instead, we will have Aid Stations along the course. At these Aid Stations we will provide basic food supplies and un-bottled water in jugs that our marshals can use to refill you water bottles/flasks. We recommend that all 21k & 50k runners use a hand flask, running belt or vest with which to carry essential items, as well as food and water.

    In the case of hot weather (all distances):

    • Additional 500ml water carrying capacity

    In the case of cold weather (all distances): 

    • Waterproof trousers
    • Full length leggings
    • Thermal Layer
    • Beanie & Buff

    • Fully charged mobile phone
    • GPS device (e.g. phone/watch/inreach) with route uploaded
    • Foil blanket

    Recommended Kit (21k, 10k & 5k):

    • Trail running shoes
    • Whistle
    • Technical running clothing
    • Sufficient fuel (gels, chews etc)

    Parking:
    5k/10k – Box Hill Main Car Park- please remember to pay & Display! (Please access via Box hill road, not the Zig Zag road.

    25k/50k – Parking will be at Farmer’s Field, Old Reigate Road, Dorking, RH4

    Baggage

    We will have a secure area in the event village where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage staff and they will help you find your baggage.

    Toilets

    There will be plenty of toilets available within the event village.

    Results

    Results will be available on our website after the event.

    Pictures

    We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on the RunThrough Photos website after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.
