CHASE THE SUN CLAPHAM COMMON 5k & 10k – WEDNESDAY 17TH JULY 2019

All pre-entries will be assigned a number. Your number will be assigned on Tuesday, if you remember this number it will make collection super quick on the day.
To collect them you need to make your way down to the numbers desk between 5:30pm – 6:30pm on Wednesday evening. It will take around 15 minutes to collect number and drop your bag off. The earlier you get there, the more efficient we will be on the day. You will only need one number attached to the front of your shirt. If you have your own pins then that would be great but we will have supplies if needed. Your timing chip will also be in the envelope, this needs to be attached to your shoe as per the instructions on the back of the chip. Please make sure you keep your number on at all times during the race. At the finish you can dispose of your chip (we do not need to collect them back).
When you collect your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner Information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us greatly in case of an emergency!

We will have a secure area where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, all you have to do show you number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.
There will be water provided on every lap of the race, and water at the finish. Don’t forget to pick up your banana and flapjack at the finish!

We will have marshals all around the course as well as KM signs and arrows. It will be 2 laps for the 5k and 4 laps for the 10k. Please be aware that there will be spectators and members of the public using the park – be aware of people walking, dogs & bikes. You can see the course map HERE.
Results will be available on www.runthrough.co.uk after the race.
We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.

Driving – There is no car park on site. If you park on the roads around the Common, you will need to check the pay machines and watch out for permit areas.
Tube – The closest tube station to the event village is Clapham South (5 min walk) with Clapham Common (10 min walk) also in very close proximity. The event village is next to Mount Pond on Windmill Drive as per the map above. Follow the running crowds and look for the signs 🙂
Train – The Common is around 1 mile from Clapham Junction. So if you want to get the overground, you can either take a stroll (warm up?) or take the 35, 37 or 345 bus.
By Foot – The park is easily accessible by both foot and cycle. Cycle parking is available in the park.
Please, wherever possible walk, jog, run, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving. You can use TFL to help plan your journey.
Things to note!
There WILL be pedestrians, please be aware of people, dogs & cyclists. We have marshals around the course and signs but this is not a road race, you have to pay very close attention to where you are going. We do not recommend you use earphones and you need to pay close attention to everything around you. The nature of a park/common is that there are people doing whatever they so please, we can have no control over stray dogs or people running the opposite direction etc so please be aware.
