Realised I was on for the hour again and stepped it up on the third lap to finish in under 59 minutes, a new 2018 PB, pretty chuffed with that! . Another brilliant event from Run Through UK, thanks again to all the team for the marshalling, organising and encouragement and most excellent tambourines. . After eight RT events this year I finally got round to buying a Run Through shirt, will be sporting that next time out. . ????‍♂️???????????????? . @runthroughuk @mattwoodywood @lucygraceharfield @thefitnessfors . #RunThroughUK #ClaphamCommon10k #YourSpeedDoesntMatter #ForwardIsForward #ButANewPBAlwaysFeelsGreat #FiftyEightFourtySix #GotToCrackOnWithTheIntervals #EpicFlapjack #TidyBling

So victories come in all different shapes, sizes, speeds, distances and times! Today’s run was a good one. It was a big mental victory for sure. The wins: 1. I made the start line. 2. I crossed the finish line. 3. I ran the whole way round, no walking. 4. It wasn’t my slowest 10k after all! 5. Every single inspirational quote on the way round hit home and worked. 6. I enjoyed it. I really really enjoyed it!! I actually smiled on the way round instead of looking pained and angry!! The losses: 1. The water stations were on the left hand side and my arm still can’t reach properly so had to do some interesting pirouette style movement to get my water ???? 2. I probably need to train now. 3. I need to go faster next time!! #10k #rundone #inrecovery #victories #runthrough #funrun #claphamcommon #runningisgoodforthesoul

I’ve started enjoying 10k races a lot more after having done a couple of half marathons! ????????????‍♀️???????????? ???? Today was the @runthroughuk Clapham Common 10k race! Nice and flat course although whenever running in a park, you need to keep an eye on the tree roots and potholes to avoid twisting an ankle! I know I’m super careful in that sense as I’ve had my fair share of torn ligaments and a couple of knee surgeries to keep me alert. It can be quite hard sometimes when at the back of your head the old injuries are starting to have an mental effect on your training and they hold you pack from doing your absolute best. I know I can relate to that.
