Runthrough Battersea Park 5k – 16:12!!!!! Massive 45 second PB! . . This has to be the best race of my life! I've only been back in training for a month running 40-50k weeks, so was expecting to maybe push 17 minutes, but not that!!! I'm so so happy and this was so beyond my expectations, this changes everything with regards to training and my goals. . . And it was great to be back in a race! Awesome to see so many runners out and back in a race scenario, thanks so much to @runthroughuk for putting this on, it was a fantastic event and I enjoyed it so much. . . This race was also a who's who of running Instagram/youtube, so many familiar faces around, giving me the opportunity to meet @benparkes and @sarahplace1 who were both really nice and had time for everyone coming up to them which I really appreciated. . . Time to rest and celebrate today, and then to move forward!

Today didn’t disappoint. RunThrough always put on amazing events and this was my first one at Battersea Park; I’ll be back ?. . Big shout out to @the_original_chewett who ran a comfy 46 minutes (sub 45 next up ??) and to her bro @brodie_music who ran his first EVER race and kept pace with us. Legend! . Maybe he’ll remember this race in years to come for the overall experience and for smashing it, or maybe his most vivid recollection will be me shouting ‘wipe your chin for the photos’ as we approached the finish line ?. . Top drawer stuff today and I’m already looking forward to the race pics because we totally posed for all of them ???‍♂️. . Great to see @jenna.is.running (thanks for the company at the end ?) @chrispayne82 @happy_deaf_mike @amyrobertson @gary_runs @emajoyc and sorry we missed you @fudgieruns @cwd707 @shellie0055. . Well done everyone today ??????

?? ????????? ~ ??.?? ? ⁣ ⁣ First race post-covid, and boy did I *love* getting back out there and soaking in those race-day endorphins.⁣ ⁣ There were A LOT of very very fast athletes out in Battersea Park this morning (the fastest ran a 14.29 5km ?) – and I’d be lying if I said the sea of club vests and ‘real runners’ didn’t psyche me out a little. But then I remembered I wasn’t here to race against them, or prove anything to anyone, I was here to run for me. It’s been a bonkers year, but I’m alive and I’m still running. So – for now – why not simply enjoy the fact that events are making their way back onto our calendars? ⁣ ⁣ Who else has recently entered a race, or feels excited about pinning on a race number again?

That's Day 7 and Week 4 /12 complete. PERSONAL BEST The sun was shining, and what was meant to be an easy 10km turned out to be a PB! I manage to achieve Sub 49 with a time of 48:53 That's 2 PBs in just over a week (Half marathon last Saturday) I have to give Kudos to Sai, just ran 2 marathons in the past 5 days and still managed a sub 49 10km! It was good to run from start to finish with you. I'm progressing really quick now, feeling strong mentally and physically, do I keep pushing hard for the remaining 8 weeks? To smash the Olympic Half Marathon, or do I take it easy becsuse of Brighton Marathon next April? Date: 06-09-2020 Distance: 10km Time: 48:53 Medal #84 __________________________________ #thegiantrunner #giantrunner #giant #tallrunner #runthroughuk #runthroughkit #batterseapark10k #battersea #10km #pb #fastrunner #fastrunner #halfmarathontraining #gettingitdone #gayrunner #gayfit #gayfitness #marathontraining #longlegs #fastrun #tallstyle #tallman #runnerscommunity #runninglife #runningmotivation #ukrunchat #ukrunner #goprorunner #goprohero8 #like4likes

First race in over 6 months today having a cobweb blowing away smash round the RunThrough Battersea 5km. Pleased with my time of 23:02 as I’m not doing much speed work at the minute: must have been the support crew of Barney & Noble. #timetrial #runthroughuk #batterseapark . .
