Race Information – Tatton 10k – August 9th 2020

Please note: you will be set off in waves based on the estimated finish time entered at the checkout.  

As you will be aware the event has been modified to ensure we can adhere to social distancing and the guidelines issued by RunBritain and UK Sport.

Please familiarise yourself with the measures that will be in place at the event HERE.

Thank you for your cooperation with the new regulations in place at the event, these are necessary to ensure a safe environment and mean that we can continue to provide race opportunities.

If you have been in an affected place, been in contact with someone with coronavirus or had any symptoms in the last 14 days please refrain from attending the race. For further guidance please visit the NHS website HERE.

Race Packs 

All race packs have been sent out in the post. If you do no receive your race pack before the end of the day on Friday 7th August please contact us at info@runthrough.co.uk to arrange a pack for collection.

You will not be able to run without a race number and chip.

NO CHIP MEANS NO TIME.

 

Race Start 

The colour of your race number will relate to the wave you are starting in. This has been determined by the estimated finish time given when signing up.

Within the event village you will see the start line and each start area marked out with a corresponding coloured sign. When arriving please familiarise yourself with your start area.

YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE WAVES.

Each wave will be called to the starting pen where our marshals will guide you into a start formation with 4 runners, all 2m apart, being started every 10 seconds.

The first runners will cross the line at 8:30am and you can expect each wave to follow at the below rough times:

Red Wave – 8:30am

Light Blue Wave – 8:32am

Black Wave – 8:34am

Yellow Wave –  8:36am

Purple Wave – 8:38am

Green Wave – 8:40am

Brown Wave – 8:42am

Orange Wave – 8:44am

Pink Wave – 8:46am

White Wave – 8:48am

We will be guiding you through the pens before your wave start time to ensure social distancing so please make sure you are in the correct location and ready to race before your start time. We will get you started as soon as it is safe to do so.

Please listen closely to all marshal instructions and remember to keep a safe distance from the runners around you.


Travel

Address: Tatton Park, Ashley Road, Knutsford WA16 6QQ

By Car – You will need to enter Tatton Park from Ashley Road, having turned off Mereside Road – PLEASE NOTE this is not a usual entrance to the park. We will have marshals at the entrance from 7am.

Tatton Park is signposted from junction 7 of the M56 and junction 19 of the M6. The entrance to the park is approximately half a mile from Knutsford Railway station. It is then recommend to follow the postcode WA16 6QQ – only once you reach the Knutsford area.

M6 junction 19: From the motorway roundabout take the A556 Chester Road dual carriageway signposted for Manchester, Manchester Airport and Tatton Park. After travelling 1 mile go straight through the first set of traffic lights with Mere Country Club on your right hand side. At the next set of traffic lights, facing the Swan Pub, turn right onto the A5034 Mereside Road signposted for Knutsford and Rostherne. After about 3/4 mile take a turn left onto Ashley Road just after a car showroom/filling station. The entrance is immediately on the right after turning on to Ashley Road.

M56 junction 7: From the motorway roundabout take the A556 Chester Road dual carriageway. After traveling 2 miles at the next set of traffic lights, with a large pub (Swan Pub) on your left and facing a petrol station, turn left onto the A5034 Mereside Road signposted for Rostherne. After about 3/4 mile, turn left onto Ashley Road just after a car showroom/filling station. The entrance is immediately on the right after turning on to Ashley Road.

Parking: The car park is adjacent to the event village and on arrival, our team will be showing you to the car park. We will require your cooperation to get everyone safely parked on the facility in a timely manner.

By bike – Cycle racks are available at both main entrances to Tatton Park. Please ensure you do not lock your bike to any of the fences on the course.


Toilets

For this event we will use portaloos, rather than the usual toilets at Tatton Park which will be located in the event village field. Lining up for these toilets will be socially distanced. If you live locally we recommend using toilets at home.

Hygiene Stations

There will be multiple hygiene stations around the event village and start/finish area for all participants to use throughout the event. These will have hand sanitiser, tissue and bins for the disposal of any tissue or litter.

During the race

We will have marshals all around the course as well as KM signs and arrows. If you need to overtake on the course please be sure to take a wide berth around the runner in front.

Spitting and nasal clearance during the race is NOT permitted.

Spectators

Please be aware that due to social distancing and restrictions enforced upon us we ask that you do not bring any spectators with you to the event.

Refreshments

There will NOT be a water station on the course. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead up to the event and if you think you will need water during the race please bring your own.

After the race

Do NOT stop within the finish area. Please continue through the finish until you pass the medals and are in an open space.

There will be sealed ACTIPH water bottles at the finish for each runner to collect along with your medal and Kind Snack bar which will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself.

We ask that once you have collected your medal and water to leave the event village as soon as possible to avoid groups congregating within the event village.
