Southampton 10k- Race Information

RACE INFORMATION

Southampton 10k- Sunday 11th December 2022

Start Time:

9:00am

Please arrive early, there will be traffic on the way into the venue.

 there is no event parking at the stadium itself

Race Packs

If you’ve entered before Friday 25th November you should receive your race pack in the post.

If you entered after this date (or haven’t received your race pack in the post before the race), please make your way down to the collection desks on Sunday Morning.
It will take around 15 minutes to collect your number, so please arrive early. These will be located in the South Car Park.

You will only need one number attached to the front of your shirt.

Your timing chip will be attached to the bottom of your race bib and needs to be attached to your shoe as per the instructions on the back of the chip. Please make sure you keep your number on at all times during the race.

At the finish, you can dispose of your chip (we do not need to collect them back).

When you receive your race packs, please take a couple of minutes to fill out the brief runner Information form which can be found printed on the back of your bib. This will help us in case of an emergency!

 

Collection Time:

7:00-8:30am

Race Start 

The race will have a warm up in the event village 15 minutes prior to the start time.
After the warm up, estimated finish times will be called to the starting pen where our marshals will guide you into a start formation.

 

During the race

We will have marshals all around the course as well as km signs and arrows. The race starts pitchside in St Mary’s stadium before heading out across the Northam Bridge, under the Itchen Bridge and then through Ocean Village before finishing in the stadium.

Please discard of any water bottles or rubbish in the litter zones along the course.

After The Race

Do NOT stop within the finish area. Please continue through the finish until you pass the medals and are in an open space.

There will be sealed ACTIPH water bottles at the finish for each runner to collect along with your medal, Love Corn, and Kind Snack bar which will be laid out on tables for you to help yourself.

Car

There will be no parking at the venue, we recommend using public transport or car sharing where possible. Please use parkopedia.com to find somewhere suitable to park nearby.

There are several surrounding roads and small car parks available which are often used on match days.

Train

Southampton Central, Bitterne and Woolston Stations are all within 2 miles of the stadium. Please check rail times ahead of the race as services may be reduced on Sundays.

Bus

BlueStar Buses run in and out of Southampton, you can check their services HERE

 

Toilets

For this event we will use the toilets within the Stadium. There will also be some at 5km along the route. If you live locally we recommend using the toilet at home, to reduce queues.

 

Baggage

Please limit the number of belongings you bring to the event.
There will be an informal bag drop area within the stadium next to the event village.
Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.

Spectators

Spectators are more than welcome to come along and watch from the Stands. Due to road closures in place, it may be difficult to spectate along the course.

 

Refreshments

There will be water provided at the 5k point of the race and at the finish. We recommend staying hydrated in the lead up to the event.

 

Event T-Shirts

A comfortable, sweat-wicking fitted T shirt made for your daily workouts.

 This will probably be your favourite fitted activewear top made with a soft and lightweight polyester fabric, this T-shirt is made to keep you comfortable and  fresh on your run.

We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race, which will be made available on our photos page after the race.
