Cheeky little half marathon PR this morning ?? was actually hoping to go a couple of minutes faster but given the legs were a bit heavy from yesterday's race and the Wimbledon Common Half is almost all on trails rather than road, I'm very happy with my time ? the main thing that I'm really pleased with is that I won the mental battle and managed to push through the strong urge to slow down when the legs were complaining at 15km and power through to the end ? Can't lie – felt pretty knackered at the finish line tho ? . . . #halfmarathon #wimbledoncommonhalfmarathon #pr #pb #personalrecord #runner #running #instarunner #runnersofinstagram #runthroughuk #runchat #ukrunchat #marathontraining #runningtraining #ocrrunner #ocrtraining #medal #finishline #pushthroughthepain #pushyourlimits #knackered

A warm, humid summer’s day in London meant a real struggle today completing the Wimbledon Common Half Marathon, though that doesn’t take away from the fact it’s a beautiful location and was another well run event by #runthroughuk So this was my 7th half marathon, and my slowest ? Yes, I went into the event with an injury to my Achilles’ tendon and it was very warm for running, but I had good preparation and felt reasonably confident so the result was quite a shock to me. However I’m still proud I completed the run and still had plenty of smiles afterwards, especially while posing with a Womble! (Brits will know what that is) Not every day or race can be perfect, or turn out exactly how you imagined it would be. But that shouldn’t bring us down. Take any lessons out of that day that you can, and prepare for the next challenge ? Two billboard messages around the course today that stand true: – Don’t let one bad mile stop you. – The worst race of your life is still better than no race at all! . . . . . . ——————————————— #runthroughuk #halfmarathon #wimbledon #wimbledoncommon #wimbledoncommonhalfmarathon #running #runningismytherapy #motivation #motivationalquotes #exercise #fitnessmotivation #fitness #healthy #healthyliving #keeponrunning #runners #ukrunchat #runner #runnersofinstagram #parkrunuk #marathontraining #wombles #womblesofwimbledon #london #londonrunning #uk #medal #smile #happiness #nevergiveup

It seems impossible until it’s done! ? I saw a sign during my race today that had a sign saying this, and it rang so true. Reached mile 2 and I said “still have 11 miles to go”. That’s how it felt from the start! ? The first mile was pretty much up hill and from then on I was on a losing battle with my energy and motivation to get round. This was a “when is it going to end” run. After having an amazing 10miler race last weekend this race was completely different. The down side to doing a two lap race is you know what’s coming on the 2nd. ? Wimbledon common half was a very pretty route but today it got the better of me. The main thing is I made it round and crossed the line. My head wasn’t mentally in the game, the heat didn’t help and I don’t think I had enough breakfast. ? Hey ho, it’s done. Tomorrow is a new day and a new week. ?? #ldtpacemakers #wimbledoncommon #runthroughuk #strongerfitterfaster #sub90half #halfmarathontraining #ivegotthis #justkeeprunning #thisgirlcan #whatarunnerlookslike #runlikeagirl #sundayrunday #13.1 #runnerofinstagram #ukrunchat
