+11, strong wind, cold rain, and lots of hills. What a great day for first half marathon. Didn’t make it in less than two hours but still happy! Was amazed by diversity of this event. Guy in a wheelchair finished same time as I did. There where few blind runners, and there is nothing more humbling than old ladies overtake you like you are standing in one place. But that just a reminder that life goes on whatever happens, and we should never give up on ourself. And that’s truly inspiring. However, thanks @liliamitatii for support, thank you @vadimjeleascov for training me remotely, and thanks terminators project. Fist half marathon race with no pb It was gonna happen sometime so at least I can blame it on the 13 (THIRTEEN) laps and the insane number of hills on each lap Still loved the race (or most of it) and the amazing company. So I ran the Lee Valley VeloPark half marathon today and got myself a PB 1hr 28mins and 22secs. First race in 6 months and I’m absolutely buzzing. Big shout out to @cj_poet, without his constant insistence that I change my diet my performance wouldn’t have jumped up as much as it has recently. Who knew there was more to eat than pasta ? Such a well run event by @runthroughuk I can’t recommend these guys enough. Well that was a blast. Loved it ?. 13 laps of the Velopark. Thank you @runthroughuk . Great support all the way from the volunteers and the lady on the mic at the finish and half way point was brilliant. It was a lot more hillier than I expected ?. 6 hills per lap. There is the downs but the ups were tough. First proper race ?‍♀️ since lockdown. Very well organised and just great to be back to what I love. Met some people, chatted to a few on the way round and even managed a sprint finish with someone at the end. Definitely be back to do some more. Pleased with my time considering it’s my first speed session in 6 months and also my last run ?‍♀️ before the marathon next weekend.
