What a day, I ran from my house to compete in the runthrough event, which was a 10km race at Lee Valley Velo Park. Also ran back home after! It started to rain when I left home and poured down till I got back in the house. I got very wet, it was horrible! I’m glad I did only a 10km run. It was only 6 laps. I don’t like running too many laps, as I get bored going over the same route. I have missed running races and this run made me feel great to get in a live race and compete again. Last time I finished 10km in 43 minutes but this time it was 46 minutes, not too bad considering the weather and the hilly course. ???‍♀️?????✅ #runthroughuk #runthrough #leevalley #velopark #10kmrun #raceday #hollween #hollweenrun #runrace #10krace #nextinshape #runningheroes #runningheroesuk #runintherain #rainyrun #racemedals #runningchallange #racerunner @runthroughuk #medal #parkrunuk #runchatuk #londonrunner #ukrunner #nikerunning #nikeplus #keeprunning

? New 10k race PB! – 35:55 official time ? . That was for the Halloween ? special @runthroughuk Lee Valley VeloPark race, and a route with many laps (each lap was 1 mile), not so flat, and under the rain, cold and wind. I was thinking during the race I tend to PB when it rains, so it couldn’t be that bad after all… ?? . I changed my training a bit with targeted speed sessions these past few weeks, motivated by the @prodirectrunning Breakthrough 10k challenge to work a 10k PB in October, and it paid off. My previous race PB was 36:48 at Kew Gardens from last month, almost a full minute better! . _________________ #instarunners #runnersworld #runner #running #ultrarunner #courseapied #correr #laufen #ukrunchat #stravarun #garminrunning #runaddict #runhappy #soundmindsoundbody #marathon #marathontraining #ultramarathon #runlondon #10ktraining #10krun #prodirectrunning #prodirectbreakthrough #breakthrough10k

A very tough race today. I knew it would be as it’s 13 laps, but I didn’t anticipate the constant ups and downs on the course. Then the weather just made it harder. Rain and wind, never ideal! I started at sub 1:20 pace but after 4/5 laps I couldn’t keep it up. I wasn’t tired or anything, it’s just I couldn’t pace myself on the course. When ever I got to pace there was a hill or a corner, then the wind and I just couldn’t get any momentum going what so ever. If it wasn’t for @lloydkempson cheering me on most laps I probably would have quit 3 laps in, it was one of those days I just didn’t want to be there. Still happy in the conditions to get a PB by over a minute (1:22) but I feel I’m much faster than that atm but just couldn’t produce it on the day. Congratulations to everyone that raced today in these conditions! Thanks coach for getting me through it today. Big thanks to @runthroughuk for another well run event with volunteers cheering in the rain ?

Run 10 of 10 DONE // 10 runs, 96km covered, over £2000 raised for @barts.charity and some amazing support. The irony of lapping the runner dressed as the grim reaper was not lost on me and I feel like it’s only really after this quite frankly ridiculous challenge that I can see how far I’ve come. My chance of survival was so small and today I finished a sub 2 half. Pretty proud ❤️ . . . . Thank you so much to everyone who has donated, helped raise awareness and run with me along the way. Time for a rest day or maybe even two, right @houseofcardinal ?! It goes without saying this won’t be the last time I talk about the dangers of blood clots #bloodclotsurvivor #pulmonaryembolismawareness #bartscharity #runningeveryday #runthroughuk

Wet, windy and wild! Yesterday’s 10 mile run at the Olympic Velopark with @runthroughuk was a challenging one. It was going to be my longest run in many months, it’s an undulating course and I had very tight hamstrings from a week of possibly over-running. Did I mention the 10 miles were 10 laps?? ? It was satisfying to conquer this ? It’s a mental game to run 10 laps; the ups and downs of the course actually keep you occupied. The hamstrings stopped bothering me halfway (phew!). Oh, and to make the day more memorable: pouring rain and strong winds for the last 4 miles ? I was soaking wet when this photo was taken ? All things considered, I was 2 minutes faster than my estimated time so very happy! Fantastic to be at another RunThrough event, meet some new people and be part of the London running community ? Thanks @runthroughuk for another great day! Photo taken by @run.dranners who volunteered yesterday and cheered me around the course while on marshalling duty. Lovely to meet you and thanks for the encouragement up those hills and in the heavy rain! ☺️ . . . . ————————————————————- #runthroughuk #runthroughkit #leevalleyvelopark #olympicpark #london #running #runnersofinstagram #runningmotivation #runningcommunity #runningismytherapy #runningman #runninglife #instarunners #runninguk #ukrunchat #londonrunners #runhappy #stravarunning #runderwear #asicsfrontrunner #healthylifestyle #healthyliving #exercise #fitnessgoals #londonlife #10miles #londonrunning #happyrunner #fitnessjourney
