Very hot @RunThroughUK #velopark 10k Fastest 5k split for a long time 27m 41, only 15secs off my PB. 6 laps (good call @chriswholt ). Would have liked to have fitted in more if it wasn’t football on Wednesdays. Today it was scorchio, so the vest was out and ???????? off to everyone who finished those laps of hell. Managed to catch up with the awesome @allrounder.fitness who looks in good shape for the @simplyhealthuk Grand Team Relay next week. #runtoremember On Tuesday my incredibly fit grandad had a heart attack and sadly passed away. He was a competitive and talented cyclist. He understood me and my love of running. He tried to make me believe in myself and was proud of how far I’ve come recently. It’s extremely fitting that today not only did I get a 5k PB, I outright won a race on a cycling track! Every step of that was for him ????I certainly wasn’t expecting anything below 22mins after having already run 32 miles for the week and on that undulating course. Did I ever tell you I hate hills/inclines/speed bumps… Harriette struggled to run on her own and in the heat so I did her final lap with her. Malachy did the 5k with a school friend and the sportsmanship between them is commendable. His friend’s little sister was incredible in the mile. I think the boys will need to up their game soon! It was lovely to do a @runthroughuk race as it’s been too long since I’ve done one and to catch up with some of the wonderful friends I’ve made.
