The struggle! Day 19 of @redjanuaryuk … the tale of the tape … 5k hard at the @runthroughuk races at Greenwich Park. The cardio is in pieces. the legs felt heavy. I felt … unfit! Took off insanely quickly and had little left for the hill. It was horrendous, but at the same time, its again pushed me back toward fitness. Its a long journey. Its a tough one. One which im finding tough but focused on getting there, even if i dont quite reach the levels of last year. .. The marathon journey is a funny one. Its a life of simplicity. You get up on a weekend, you eat, and you run. You (re)connect with your senses because on many an occasion you are running on your own. But because of what you are doing, you begin to feel more alive and get that sense of achievement. A sense of purpose. .. I know im not in as good a physical shape as i was this time last year, probably a few kg heavier than optimal, but im enjoying life and getting back into it …. and im prepared for the news that im not quite going to hit the same heights of what i ran last year. Thats fine!! ???? .. But from the injuries ive had and coming back from those, i get that sense of well being as i start a journey so many people are on, preparing to run those 26 odd miles, sharing stories, and making many friends on the way. Today @sebhiggins captured one of those moments of that journey, coming up that hill of Greenwich Park. 12 weeks to go @brightonmarathonweekend . .. Happy Saturdays peeps. .. #runthroughuk #hills #hilltraining #cardio #running #runner #marathoner #marathontraining #26point2 #brightoarathon #londonrunner #werunlondon #irunthisbody #livethelifeyoulove #lovethelifeyoulive #ilovetorun #feelingalive #instarunners #runnersofinstagram #asicsrunclub #fitnessgoals #runninggoals #injurycomeback #greenwichpark #greenwich
