That. Was. So. Tough. @runthroughuk 10k Chase the Sun in #hydepark this evening. Race started at 7pm with 30c / 86F temperature. Rekindling marathon memories (although *this* was SO MUCH hotter!). Struggled after first water station at 2.5km but shouted at myself not to walk & in the end didn’t. Slowest 10k finish for a while but…I got it done right?! ????. . . . . Congrats to my awesome colleagues for running when most of London was in the pub! @lauragc_ldn @dcorbettjapan @g3mtots @sophie_mfl . Great effort by all!! When you run a 10k race on the hottest day (yesterday) of the year so far (not counting today yet…) Overheating is an understatement! . Just getting round the 10k was good enough for me, no PBs but an achievement run in itself! Now I just need to find an extra 4 miles ready for October…. . . Remember not everything goes to plan, Sometimes you have to manage expectations and change your goal posts when external factors are out of your control
