Perspective: after a really crap day, I could have just gone home and got lost in my own thoughts and anxieties. I dragged myself to my race this evening and knew it would be hard. I’m finding running outside in the heat so difficult and frustrating… half way round I felt awful and knew I wouldn’t do myself justice. BUT then I remember- I just applied to the London marathon with a good for age time under my belt. The only person criticising me tonight, is me. I took off my headphones and decided to empty my mind and focus on finishing. The problem with chasing pbs and training is that sometimes, there’s a bad day or week or month. I’m recovering from injury and hate running in hot weather. It doesn’t mean I’m a bad runner- it just means it’s not my best environment to run in. I finished sub 50 and in the top 10 ladies- sometimes I need to remind myself that that is pretty badass. @runthroughuk ‘s Crystal Palace Park 10K done! First time run with “employed” Interpreter Run Guide (IRG). It was my most difficult run as I was very emotional all the way. My form was awful with heavy legs. My quote: “I am glad that I crossed the finish line, NOT the train line.” This medal is for YOU, I want to say thank you for your overwhelmed support since I was collapsed three weeks ago and I’m on very slow recovery.
