@runthroughuk delivered a gorgeous race in Battersea Park this morning. My legs were sore from the start (#Crossfithabit) but I took one km at a time & finished in 45:56. I have yet to run a sub 45min 10km so I’m always happy when my time starts with 45 – it means I might be getting older but I’m not getting slower ๐Ÿ˜€ โ€ข โ€ข First time repping @windmilers in my new club top. The size 12 is way too tight for me but I think running club vests are not made for Crossfitters’ upper bodies ๐Ÿ™ˆ โ€ข โ€ข #raceday #10km #runthroughuk #runhappy #racehappy #crossfitrunner #wimbledonwindmilers #irunthisbody

So hereโ€™s a life lesson: sometimes the races where you donโ€™t have high expectations or shoot for a PR can still be sooo much fun, and you just might surprise yourself! โค๏ธ๐Ÿ˜๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ . . Yesterday I ran the Battersea Park 5K with @runthroughuk after being on the road 10 days, sleeping minimally, building mileage, and working long hours with tons of meetings! Earlier in the week after some crazy jet leg and having trouble just running at ANY pace I told Nick I didnโ€™t know what I was thinking signing up for a race!๐Ÿคฃ . . Well I ran anyway, had a blast, and somehow placed 3rd overall woman! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ thatโ€™s my first time ever placing overall!!! And while I didnโ€™t run a PR (honestly wasnโ€™t trying for one though!) I am damn happy with running the time I did and know that my fitness is moving in the right direction. Just goes to show that showing up for yourself can pay off in a big way! . . And I had an absolutely fabulous day in London! I will definitely be back for more races next time Iโ€™m in the UK for work. #runthrough #battersea5k #runnersloveyoga #doyogarunfaster #runthroughuk #doyogarunfaster #womensrunningcommunity #inspiringwomenrunners
