God Almighty. I might look happy but that was one hell of a 10k race. The course took in 3 laps of Ally Pally which as ALL locals will know contain hills. I fell over at 4k, had blood seeping down my leg, but managed to finish thanks to AC/DC on the headphones. ‘It’s A Long Way To The Top If You Wanna Rock ‘n’ Roll’ has never ever felt more apt! Thanks #runthroughuk that cleared the cobwebs! #alexandrapalace #AllyPally #10km #Knackered
By far my toughest 10km run ever but I enjoyed it. First time in Ally Pally and won’t be my last. Great support by @nousha_hh and Adam. #runnersofinstagram #runningcommunity #runner #running #runningman #runs #love #RunThroughUK #success #enjoyment

We did the jump shot before, rather than after, the inaugural @runthroughuk Ally Pally 10K, which is a good thing because I could barely walk after all them hills – jelly legs and arse on fire – let alone jump . Really surprised, but dead chuffed that despite the hills, I still managed to be first girl home!!! Most of my training is done on the flat and I rarely get chance to do much hillwork, so although I was absolutely done by the end, I know this did me one hell of a lot of good physical and mentally! I’m genuinely pretty confident that I did more elevation on this 10K alone than I normally do in a month . @mattwoodywood wisely advised me to take the first lap easy and see how the course played out, and then go from there, and I’m so glad I actually listened because although I managed to hold a fairly consistent pace across all three laps and was definitely feeling it by the end! . Dead chuffed that my legs (and mind!) seem to have come back as well…can’t wait to start putting in the mileage again the post-marathon comeback is onnnnnn! . . . Fab event as always from the #RunThroughUK team and lovely to see a few familiar faces from the club too! “When your legs can’t run anymore, run with your heart”~ That is exactly what I did today! * * Today I finished my very first 10k and I can hardly put the experience into words. It was a very tough course at Ally Pally. The hills were a really big test of will power and mental strength. I came next to last, but I am not bothered by that at all! I went out there and gave 110% effort. I ran MY race, I pushed past MY own limits, and I owned every second of it! * * Now that I have accomplished this, I know I can do anything. Crystal Palace doesn’t seem so bad compared to this course~ I guess I will test this theory on Wednesday night! * * Thanks to @runthroughuk for a great event. A huge thanks to all the marshalls on the course! Alexandra Palace 10K – what a hell! Without shadow of a doubt, It was most toughest I’ve ran with RunThrough! Uphills and downhills. Three laps. Stunning view of London from the top. I thought @runthroughuk has organised it very well. I was so pleased for keep running on uphill, I REFUSED to walk! Many thanks to Michael Loiacono (@deafskiier ) for his guide, especially some hazards on the trail. Congratulations to the runners who has completed the course. Now I’m much looking forward to put my feet up at @citizenm in London… see you at Crystal Palace next!
Ran my first 10K since February today, and I sure know how to pick ‘m! Runthrough’s Ally Pally route was the hilliest yet, but I kept going and finished in 1:07. Far from my best but oh my those hills. Saw lots of friendly faces again and it was great to catch up with everyone. Of course afterwards I decided on an impromptu forest yoga class, so a nap was more than deserved ☺️♀️⛅️♀️#runthroughuk #allypally10k #sundayrunday #runhillstheysaid #andnowforanap #purplemedals
