ALEXANDRA PALACE 10K – SUNDAY 13th MAY 2018
Start Time: 9:30am
Address: Alexandra Palace Way, London, N22 7AY
The event village is located at the Fairground Car Park, in the South-West corner of the Park. Please see map below for the quickest walking route from the train station to the event village, this is approximately a 5 minute walk.
All pre-entries will be assigned a number. To collect your number you need to make your way down to the numbers desk between 8.30am – 9.10am. It will take around 15 minutes to collect your number and drop your bag off. The earlier you get there, the more efficient we will be on the day. You will only need one number attached to the front of your shirt. If you have your own pins then that would be great but we will have supplies if needed. Your timing chip will also be in the envelope, this needs to be attached to your shoe as per the instructions on the back of the chip. Please make sure you keep your number on at all times during the race. At the finish you can dispose of your chip (we do not need to collect them back).
You will find instructions on the back of your chip for how to attach it to your shoe correctly (as below):
We will have a secure area where you can leave your baggage. We recommend you bring as little baggage as possible. Your baggage tag is attached to your race number, you simply tear it off and attach to your bag. To collect, show your number to the baggage tent staff and they will help you find your baggage.
Portaloos will be provided at the Start/Finish area.
There will be a water station located on each lap of the race, and water available at the finish. We have also ordered some bananas and flapjacks so you can grab a complimentary piece when you finish.
During the race
We will have marshals all around the course as well as KM signs and arrows. The course will be 3 laps along the paths within the grounds of Alexandra Palace Park. Please stay on the paths at all times, and follow marshal instructions during the race. Please be aware that there will be spectators and members of the public using the park.
In terms of spectating, this park could literally not be any better, the fields are open and every area of the park is accessible to see people running round. You can see the course map HERE.
Results will be available on www.runthrough.co.uk after the race.
We will have a photographer taking a few snaps of the race and they will be on Facebook after the race so be sure to check it out and see if you can spot yourself.
Please, wherever possible walk, jog, cycle or use public transport when attending the event. If you do have to drive, please consider car-sharing to reduce our impact on both the environment and other park users. Please also watch out for other park users when arriving and leaving.
By Car – There is parking available at the car parks next to Alexandra Palace. There is also some parking available on the surrounding roads to the Park. The address is Alexandra Palace, Alexandra Palace Way, London, N22 7AY and the event village is located in the Fairground Car Park.
By Tube/Train – The nearest tube station is Wood Green on the Piccadilly Line (journey time is 20 minutes from Piccadilly Circus). Exit Wood Green Station and go to bus stop A to pick up the W3 bus up the hill to Alexandra Palace.
Alexandra Palace has its own British Rail Station, fittingly called Alexandra Palace Station. It is located at the Wood Green entrance to the Park. A regular train service runs direct from Kings Cross to Alexandra Palace.
By Foot – The park is easily accessible by both foot and cycle. Cycle parking is available in the park.
Use TFL to help plan your journey.
Things to note!
There WILL be pedestrians, please be aware of people, cyclists and dogs. We have marshals and signage around the course but this is not a road race, you have to pay very close attention to where you are going. We recommend you do not use earphones and you need to pay close attention to everything around you.
