Weather update and precautions

The weather forecast for this weekend is looking to be warm, so we’d like to take this opportunity to inform you of the provisions that will be in place at the event.

We strongly encourage runners to take necessary precautions such as wearing a visor/cap, sunscreen and ensure you keep well hydrated throughout. You MUST bring your own water on top of what we will be providing.

We will have a water station on the course located at approximately the 5km point on each lap.
Please do make use of this throughout your race. (Half marathon runners will pass this four times, 10k runners will pass it twice, and 5k runners will pass it once.)

We will also be providing bottled water for all runners at the finish line.
We do however, highly recommend bringing your own water to stay hydrated in the build up to the race.

If you’d like to leave your own bottles on the side of the course, or ask a spectator to pass these over whilst you are running that is completely fine!

If you’d like further advise on hydration and nutrition in hot weather, this can be seen HERE.

We also have a qualified medical team positioned at strategic points throughout the course and event village that are fully equipped and trained in heat related cases. Should you be feeling any effects from the heat, please do inform a member of the event staff, marshal or medic along the course, who will be able to provide assistance.
