“The only way to define your limits is to go beyond them” . . . It’s just so weird how I keep blowing my own expectations out of the water. I had absolutely *no* idea I was capable of that sort of time, taking 5mins off my PB and coming 2nd female in the @runthroughuk 10 mile event at the VeloPark this morning. Chatting to @mattwoodywood before the race, I tentatively thought I might be able to manage around 1:17, especially given the undulating nature of the course. Admittedly – I did go far faster than I had planned , settling into a steady pace for the first 6 laps and then having just enough to push it a little on the final 4. Proper chuffed! . . . Another great effort from the whole RunThrough gang to put on yet another seamless event, and actually, for my first visit, I enjoyed the VeloPark course a lot more than I thought I would – thankfully it wasn’t as bad or as hilly as I’d anticipated! Today I competed in the #runthroughuk Lee Valley Olympic Velopark 10mile road race. This is the longest distance race I’ve ever competed in and is part of my prep for the @brightonhalfmarathon next month. I’m really happy with my time of 1:19:39 and getting under 1:20:00. I think I can shave a few minutes off this time too as this was a mentally tough run! 10x1mile laps . I’m really chuffed with my 5k split of 23 mins and 10k split of 47mins (fastest I’ve run a 10k for years). I honestly think I can get sub 22mins 5k and sub 45mins 10k in a race over those distances.
